My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment and relationship to help you explore the dark and not so dark aspects of yourself. Bringing you into the light of who you are meant to be. Thrive, breathe and relax. The list below is a convenient way for you to quickly jump to the various topics listed on this page.
Reasons for Therapy
The decision to enter therapy is a personal one and may take time. Some indicators that you may need therapy are:
- You feel an overwhelming sense of helplessness and sadness, lacking hope
- You make the same mistakes over and over
- Your relationships fail and you are dumb founded every time
- You feel "stuck" and you are not sure why
- You have anxiety and worry much of the time
- You have suffered a recent loss and are struggling to make sense of your life now
- You're moody and everyone, including yourself are struggling to keep up with your changes
- You are hurtful to yourself or others, self-sabotaging
- You have poor self-esteem, meaning you are never pleased with yourself, the way you look, or anyone else
- You have suffered either childhood distress or "trauma"
- You have suffered a recent trauma, and are still having flashbacks, nightmares, and intrusive thoughts
- You are a professional in the helping field and find yourself with job burnout, lack of motivation and sleep.

How Long will Therapy Last?
Therapy can last from a few weeks to a year or more. This depends on the client, willingness to work and the issues you are working on. I have techniques that can help you make rapid improvements, and some techniques take longer. There is not a standard amount of time. You and I develop treatment goals, and assess those goals on a regular basis.

What can I Expect from the First Session?
The first session is to get to know you. Therapy is a time set aside for only you. Therefore, making you comfortable is my primary focus. Since many people are nervous and fear being judged or being “weird”, I strive to make it as easy as possible. I will ask questions about your family background, trauma history, relationships, health, and your primary reason for wanting support and help. Some individuals are more cautious and take time to build trust; others love to jump right in and are relieved to be in therapy.

My Creative Approach
Using techniques and approaches from different traditions in psychology to help the individual gain insight into deep-seated beliefs and destructive thought patterns. Clients learn to develop their joy and experience health instead of problems and roadblocks.
I offer couples and individual therapy, which is tailored to your needs. There are many treatment modalities that I utilize. We will work together to find the best treatment method for you.

Meditation:
Mediation is either used for spiritual growth and discovery, or calming and centering the mind. How I primarily use it in my practice is to help you go in and quiet the mind, so you can become more clear and calm. When you have mental "static" you have "static" in all aspects of your life, physical and emotional.
-
Guided Imagery/Day Dreaming
: This is used by helping you formulate where you are wanting to go. Often times, we are sure of what we do not want. However, unless we have a clear picture of the positive outcomes and wants we can achieve, growth can be a struggle.
-
Chakra Balancing and Aura Clearing:
We tend to carry around a lot of unwanted debris in our energy. Thoughts of loved ones, tragedies, struggles, a bad day at work (and so on...) make us feel "heavy". Releasing energetically the debris and replacing the negatives with the positives help to restore vitality, creativity and life into our systems. Sometimes this debris causes us to have thoughts that are not true to our own nature.
-
Spiritual Guidance:
a spiritual "emergenc-E" is when we are no longer on familiar ground. We have gone to a new level of awareness and understanding about ourselves and the world we live in. However, we are usually uncomfortable with the process of when our core beliefs change and evolve, therefore, we tend to become afraid and stagnate. Understanding that this is natural, normal and healthy through processing ones thoughts and feelings can help this process become more comfortable.
-
Dream Analysis:
In many traditions, dreaming is thought to be the unconscious talking to us, processing when we cannot and sending messages. These messages are often through symbol because that is easier for us to hear. The dream state uses symbols that we are already familiar with and know. I help you to understand and interpret your dream language for a more in-depth and insightful understanding of what you are going through.
-
Journaling:
Writing is thought to help you get out of your emotional state and into your head for information and processing. Often journaling can help you understand yourself deeper and free from the opinions of others. Sometimes I will have you journal just for yourself, and sometimes I will invite you to share it in session.
